Just as a word is made up of letters + letters, a sentence is also made up of word + word. In simple words, a sentence is a set of words or collection of words. If one or more words sit together and express the mind completely, then it is called a sentence.

Note: In written form of English we usually have a group of words with verbs. Formation of Sentences
Now we see, sentences’ may be single- worded and multi worded with verbs and without verbs. Single-worded sentences and multi worded sentences without verbs are often said in spoken English.
Single-worded examples: Yes, No. come. Go. Stop. Halt. Thanks etc.
Multi-worded with verbs:
who’s speaking ?
What’s the time now?
Have you taken any sweets?
Will you take any ?
Multi worded without verbs:
Mr. Roy.
Five minutes past ten.
Not at all.

optative sentence:

A sentence that expresses strong feeling or emotion is called an Exclamatory sentence.
